Seasonal Staff Positions
Dunning Lake Lifeguards & Swim Instructors: Individuals age 16+ with strong swimming skills and a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification are encouraged to apply. Lifeguards help ensure a safe waterfront by monitoring swimmers, enforcing rules, and responding to emergencies. Dunning Lake is open from May 30th to September 7th. Dunning Lake Boat Attendants: Individuals age 16+ who enjoy working outdoors and assisting guests with boat rentals are encouraged to apply. Attendants help ensure a safe boating environment by enforcing rules, assisting patrons in and out of boats, and responding to on-water issues. Dunning Lake is open from May 30th to September 7th. Grille Staff: Individuals age 16+ who enjoy food service and interacting with the public are encouraged to apply. Staff prepare and serve food, take orders, handle payments, and maintain a clean and safe Grille area. Previous food service experience is helpful but not required. The Grille is open on weekends only from May 30th to June 7th. Seven days a week from June 13th to August 23rd, and weekends only from August 29th to September 7th. Day Camp Counselor: Individuals age 16+ who enjoy being outdoors and working with children. Counselors will work alongside their Unit Director for kids ages 3-13. Camp is 9 weeks long (this includes staff training) and goes from June 13th to August 14th. Applicants can contact Paul Cappadona at paul@windingtrails.org
Day Camp Unit Director: Individuals 17+ who enjoy being outdoors and working with children, and have experience working at camps. Unit Directors lead their groups and help provide coaching/feedback to the counselor they will be paired with. Day Camp Activity Specialist: Individuals17+ who enjoy being outdoors and working with children that also specialize in a specific skill such as soccer, archery, drama, etc. Applicants must be able to create lesson plans for a wide range of ages (3-13). Camp is 9 weeks long (this includes staff training) and goes from June 13th to August 14th. Applicants can contact Paul Cappadona at paul@windingtrails.org
Day Camp Coordinator: Individuals age 20+ who have at least 2 years experience working at summer camps. Under the direction of the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Directors, the Camp Coordinator is responsible for daily contact, support and guidance of the specified camp section. Camp is 9 weeks long (this includes staff training) and goes from June 13th to August 14th. Nature's Porch Attendant: Individuals age 16+ who enjoy spending time in nature and interacting with the public are encouraged to apply. Staff open the Porch for members to enjoy and answer any questions that members may have about the trails, nature, or Winding Trails. You don't need to be a nature expert to excel at this position. The Porch is open on weekends only from April 25th to September 27th from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Hours would be from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm for opening and closing duties. Half Day Nature Camp Instructor: Individuals17+ who enjoy being outdoors and working with children that also specialize in nature or environmental education. Applicants must be able to create lesson plans for a wide range of ages (6-13). Camp is 9 weeks long (this includes staff training) and goes from June 13th to August 14th. Main Office Seasonal Assistant: . This position helps with various secretarial assignments as needed by the organization including answering phones, registering program participants, data entry, and other clerical tasks.
