NATURE'S SECRETS ON THE WEEKEND

This winter join Miss Judy for a fun weekend afternoon of learning something new about the great outdoors. The program format is an indoor introduction about the day's topic followed by a hands-on outdoor activity to try out what you learned. Dress in layers so you can be comfortable for the indoor introduction and be warm enough for the outdoor activity. Saturday programs include Just Sleeping Winter Away in January for those curious about the animals that hibernate; Winter Twigs & Bark in February to learn how to identify common trees during the winter; and Early Spring Discovery in March to explore what signs of spring are appearing. Sunday programs include Wood Ducks at Winding Trails in January to discover the history of wood ducks in Connecticut, their mating displays, and how we monitor them; Who’s Out and About During Winter in February to learn about the active winter animals; and Maple Sugaring Season in March to learn about the traditional maple sugaring season, which extends from late February into March, with a tasting of some local syrup. Registration is required 3 days before the date of the event.
