Trails Fund

2019 Donor List

For the past 70 years Winding Trails has been a vital part of the Farmington Valley and central Connecticut community. Like other nonprofit organizations, our Annual Campaign helps us to make our community a better place to live and raise our children.

We ask you to help make a difference by making a contribution to this year’s Trails Fund. You choose where you would like your donation to go:

A gift allocated here supports a full range of projects that serve the mission of Winding Trails. This past year’s funds will be used for the completion of the new 5-acre field and Walton Pond picnic pavilion, free nature and education programs, and additional bikes purchased for the camp mountain bike program. Remaining funds will be used to begin initiatives outlined in our Dunning Lake Improvements Master Plan.

This past summer Winding Trails completed a 10-year Master Plan for Dunning Lake beach and picnic improvements. This plan outlines 11 specific areas for improvement over the next decade. The first major project will be the construction of a new Boathouse Pavilion that will provide much needed additional picnic space and serve as a community gathering place. The lower part of the building will be the new boathouse, enhancing our boat rentals, addressing storage problems, and adding room for lifeguards. Details on the plan can be seen on our website at -us/ Dunning-Lake-Master-Plan.

Winding Trails’ award winning Summer Day Camp is a great opportunity for children to make new friends, learn new skills, and explore the outdoors. Anyone who has had the pleasure of going to camp knows firsthand the benefits of attending a summer program such as ours. Unfortunately, not every child has the means to afford to attend camp. These funds make it possible for children of financially struggling families to have a summer experience that would otherwise have been unavailable to them.

Gifts here will provide free wildlife programming, equipment to monitor our conservation efforts, and displays/tools for campers and students participating in environmental projects.

Please consider making a contribution to our 2017 Trails Fund Campaign. One hundred percent (100%) of your tax- deductible donation will go to making sure Winding Trails remains a natural gem for future generations to cherish.
