ABOUT THE GROUP OUTING CENTER

With facilities to accommodate up to 400 people, Winding Trails is the ideal place for your company picnic, family outing or wedding reception.

Dunning Lake

Swimming and boating are offered on this 100-acre lake from early June through Labor Day. Lifeguards are on duty.

Boating

Free paddleboats and canoes are available to rental groups near the rental area on Walton Pond from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, early June through Labor Day. Other boats such as funyaks, lasers, sailboats, waterbikes, windsurfers, paddleboats and canoes are available to rent for a small fee at the Boathouse at Dunning Lake.

Sportsplex

Sand volleyball courts, bocci courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, a softball field and soccer field are available for your recreational enjoyment. Horseshoe pits and playscapes are also located near the rental area for young and old alike.

Sports Equipment

A sports bag will be provided for you upon arrival. Each bag contains a volleyball, basketball, football, soccer ball and frisbee. Horseshoes and bocci balls are available. Softball equipment is at the field. Bring your own tennis rackets or any other sports equipment from home.

Trails

Over 12 miles of trails may be used for hiking and/or mountain biking. You will need to provide your own mountain bike and helmet. Trail maps are available.

Location

One of the great advantages of our facility is its central location. Winding Trails is easily accessible from Interstate 84. Take exit 39 off Interstate 84. Follow Route 4 West through the Farmington Center. Continue over the Farmington Bridge and Winding Trails is two lights beyond the bridge on the right.

Alcohol Policy

Alcoholic beverages are permitted on the Winding Trails premises by picnic groups who sign the appropriate forms. No alcohol may be sold unless a Connecticut State Liquor Permit is filed with the office.COOKING PHOTO Beer must be in kegs or cans--no glass bottles please.

Meals

Winding Trails allows you the flexibility to bring in your own private caterer or cook for yourselves. Whether you prefer hotdogs and hamburgers, or steak and lobster, the choice is yours. Upon request, we will provide a list of quality caterers.

Due to the number of bookings we receive, rain dates are not provided.
