Ice Fishing
Each winter dozens of members enjoy the solitude of the season by ice fishing on Dunning Lake. This activity is permitted at your own risk. Winding Trails does not and will not check Dunning Lake for safe ice conditions. Ice fishing is allowed during normal park hours. No ice fishing is allowed on Walton Pond.
Sledding
With our snowmaking system we can almost guarantee sledding all winter long. Our Sportsplex hill is located adjacent to our soccer field and provides some great sledding. It is big, long and free of any obstacles. Interested sliders can park in the sportsplex parking lot and walk across the soccer field to get to the hill. Sledding will be permitted during our regular park hours. Parental supervision is required. There is a designated area for the younger children. Please be sure to sled in designated sledding areas only. There is no sledding permitted on cross-country ski trails or on the amphitheater in front of Garmany Hall. Non-Members must buy a trail pass.
Ice Skating
Walton Pond will be available for skating once the staff has determined that the ice is the required 6 inches thick. We will resurface the ice on a regular basis for the best surface possible. Skating conditions will be posted at Route 4, at Garmany Hall, on our website, or call 677-8458.The Pond will be open daily 9:00am to dusk and until 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights. No supervision will be provided, however, the small building will be open to provide a warm rest area to put on/take off skates. There is No Skating on Dunning Lake. Non-Members must buy a trail pass to use skating pond.
Cross Country Ski Center
As a member you are free to use the trails for cross country skiing or snowshoeing no charge for trail pass.
