Special Discounted Tickets for our Members are available at Two Great Theme Parks! Winding Trails is happy to announce this special offer to all of its members. You and your family can get special rates at two of New England’s Best Amusement Parks; Six Flags of New England in Agawam, MA and Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT. The ticket prices are over a 25% savings. Tickets can be purchased in our Main Office between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.

61st Annual Children’s Fishing Derby

Get your casting arms ready! Children ages 5 to 15 are eligible to participate in this awesome annual event. Prizes will be awarded in two age groups and several different categories. Prizes in past derbies have included a bike, fishing rods and reels, camping gear, tackle boxes, and more. Registration will be handled at the event upon arrival.

14th Annual Winding Trails Fat Tire Classic

Winding Trails, Inc. is proud to be a part of the Root 66 Northeast XC Mountain Bike Race Series. This series consists of 15 NORBA sanctioned events held at different venues around New England. All levels of riders are encouraged to pre-register. The 5 mile loop is designed on Winding Trails’ 12.5 mile trail system and includes wide-open trails, hills, and turns combined with sections of technical single track. Beginner, sport, expert, and pro classes will run with a variety of age groups. Distances will vary according to each class. There will also be a special First Timers’ Race (Just one lap) and a free short kids’ race. Proceeds from the event go to the Trails Fund. Touch-A-Truck Day

Mark your calendar for this popular event that is made possible due to the generosity of local companies and agencies. You may see fire trucks, rescue vehicles, garbage trucks, backhoes, dump trucks, and many more. We also hope to have Life-star land in our field again this year so you can get an up-close view. If you or your company has a truck that would be perfect for this event and you want it to be included, please call our office at 677-8458 for registration. A large raffle will occur at the end of the day with all money going towards the Trails Fund. Refreshments will be available for a nominal fee.

Climbing Tower Days

This is a 2.5-hour program introducing the Bouldering Wall, Climbing Tower and Zip Line. The Climbing Tower and Zip Line are designed to provide a more individual challenge and to build self-confidence while still relying on the group support system. The tower activities include the 8' x 30' Bouldering Wall for practice before the climbing tower. The Climbing Tower is 40' high consisting of 3 sides; a 15' Beginner wall with incline, a 30'-35' intermediate vertical wall, a 30'-35' advanced wall with incline and over hangs. The 300' long Zip Line is located at the top platform of the tower. A safety system (belay system) is used with the Tower and 2 Extreme Engineering auto belay system. Registration is required two days prior to the start of each session.

Giant Swing Days

Come try out part of our High ropes course. Swing from 50 feet over Walton pond. This program will give you the opportunity to overcome personal fears and develop new self-confidence. EMS Canoe and Kayak Demo

This will be a true full “try and buy” experience. We will have staff from all of our local EMS stores who can’t wait to show everyone how incredibly easy and fun kayaking can be. Offering clinics on everything from fitting a PFD and choosing a paddle to safely car-topping your boat. The certified instructors from our EMS Kayak School will be in attendance, and will provide all of our on-the-water safety as well as rescue demonstrations. We will have full vendor support from Wilderness Systems, Perception and Necky and racking systems from Thule on site. We will have light refreshments available, and as with any outing, we ask folks to be prepared with wind, rain, sun protection—depending on the conditions on that day. Also, a dry change of clothes is a great idea for those who practice rolling accidentally!

Beach Volleyball

Winding Trails Tri-Training Series

The weekly triathlon series will run on Tuesday evenings at Winding Trails. This year’s series will consist of a 1/4-mile swim or kayak in Dunning Lake, a 8k trail ride (you must use a hybrid or off-road bike for the biking portion of the race), and a 5K-trail run through our beautiful woods. All ability levels are encouraged to come out and train in this friendly and fun environment.

Play & Stay Overnight

This program provides you and your family the opportunity to spend some quality time together. Make memories your kids will cherish forever while enjoying dozens of activities and camping out at Winding Trails. Activities available include soccer, basketball, hiking, baseball, boating, archery and more. You bring the tent, sleeping bags and toiletries and we will do the rest! This is a very popular program so early registration is advised. A BBQ on Friday night (6:30pm-7:30pm) and a continental breakfast on Saturday morning (7:00am–8:30am) are included. About the Band: The Tirebiter band is the winner of the 2007 Hartford Advocate Reader’s Poll for “best band” and “best classic rock band.” Hartford Magazine has also awarded Tirebiter with a “Best of Hartford” award as “Hartford’s Best Band” for 2007. The veteran band of thirty years performs a wide repertoire of music from the Swing era to Classic Rock to many of the contemporary artists of today. Great vocal harmonies, energy and humor have been the signature of the band over the years. Most recently, the band was honored to have performed at the 2007 Inaugural Ball for Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell.

Summer Movie Series

The popcorn is popping and the soda is ice cold so join us in our beautiful amphitheater for a big screen movie under the stars. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs, or just relax on the grass. You will be amazed when you watch your favorite flicks come to life on our huge 10’x14’ movie screen combined with our 1000 watt professional sound system. Hungry?
