SWIM LESSONS AND WATERFRONT:
Winding Trails Summer Day Camp emphasizes the importance for all campers to learn to swim. The American Red Cross standards are followed and our waterfront staff consists of certified Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards that provide lessons to all campers. All swim lessons and free swims are held at 80-acre spring fed Dunning Lake. Each session, campers will be tested for proper lesson placement on the first Monday. Level exit testing will be done on Thursday and Friday of the
second week in a session. Campers also enjoy a daily free swim each afternoon. The buddy system is in effect during this period and buddy checks are conducted every ten minutes. Our camper
to counselor ratio at the waterfront is 5 to 1. For explanation of swim levels Click here
